Antarctica is the least explored continent on earth. Its hostile climate has ensured that human beings find it unworthy of settlement. This has helped the continent remain largely untouched by the 'messy' humans. It is as natural as it was thousands of years ago. Below are some of the things you can expect to see on its icy landscape.

Explore the extraordinary views of Antarctica deep in the icey landscape

Antarctica is the least explored continent on earth. Its hostile climate has ensured that human beings find it unworthy of settlement. This has helped the continent remain largely untouched by the 'messy' humans. It is as natural as it was thousands of years ago. Below are some of the things you can expect to see on its icy landscape.

1. Paradise Bay

The best time to see Antarctica is during the months of December through March. It is a time when most of the ice has thawed a little on the beautiful Paradise Bay on the West side of Antarctica. It is the most visited destination in Antarctica due to its towering icebergs and navigable waters. The leopard seals will be basking in the rare sun and the tourists will be diving into the bay's deep end.

2. King George’s Island

If you are up for it, there is an Antarctic Half-Marathon or Marathon organized on the island with some sub-zero temperature. If you can finish this race, you can survive anywhere on earth. It is also a beautiful Island with lots of seals and penguins.

3. Port Lockery Museum

The building that hosts this museum used to be a British Army Base. Today, it is a small post office where you can send yourself, your friends and family a mail stamped in Antarctica. If I were you, I would send a postcard or update my Facebook status with pictures of the Antarctica.

4. Deception Island

This is a big Caldera with thermal waters that was formed by volcanic eruptions. You can skinny dip in these naturally heated waters. Make sure you take a picture...you friends may not believe there are naturally heated waters in Antarctica.

5. Observation Point near McMurdo station

From the observation point, you can see the scenic Mount Erebus and the Ross Ice Shelf.

6. Wildlife

Antarctica is home to numerous species of wildlife that includes; Elephant and Weddell seals, emperor, chinstrap and Adelié penguins and humpback and minke whales.

7. Starry Skies

During summer, you can expect to see a lot of beautiful array of stars. Why don't you try to locate the Orion?

Antarctica is the most beautiful continent. Despite having sub-zero temperatures, it is home to a lot of beautiful animals and plants. It is one of those places you need to add to your bucket list. You do not want to travel to the world yonder without having travelled here.
