Huatulco Mexico - Why All the Fuss?

by Bob's Cruises and Tours - Huatulco, 20, Mexico -

Until a couple of years ago, Huatulco was really not on the tourism radar but, boy has that changed!

Huatulco Mexico - Why all the Fuss?

Huatulco is located on the pacific coast in Mexico’s state of Oaxaca. The city itself is nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Madre del Sur Mountains and is home to 50,000 hospitable locals.

Huatulco’s tourism industry is centred around 9 amazing bays and offers travellers an abundance of things to do and see while in Huatulco exploring.

It’s no surprise, given Huatulco’s location, that most of the adventures to be had in Huatulco involve water sports and or activities.

Below are a couple “can’t miss” activities for those of us who prefer life a little wet.

White Shark Fishing – Take off into the ocean for the adventure of a lifetime. The pacific ocean and the 9 bays will be your destination for the day as you track down sharks, Mahi, Mahi and manta rays.

Aventura Mundo – This Canadian tour operator provides some of the best excursions in Huatulco. Choose from half-day floats through bird sanctuaries or full day adrenaline-filled white water rafting adventures.

Now, if getting wet isn't up your alley, don’t worry – check out some awesome alternatives below.

Parador Turistic Shluna – This is a very cool ecotourist theme park which is worth the visit.

Copalita Ecological Park and Ruins – Really cool lookouts, wildlife viewing and Zapotec ruins.

Hagia Sofia – Awesome agroecological development which allows for independent exploration.
