Singapore's Changi Airport connects passengers to over 200 destinations worldwide, with 5000 arrivals and departures a week by 80 international airlines.  


What changes have been made in this rehabilitation effort for it to have a strong impact to tourism? Let’s look closely at the details.

As reported by Breaking Travel News, upgrading the terminal while remaining operational proved to be a major challenge to the project team (“Changi Completes S$500 Million Terminal 1 Upgrade”).   In the four years that the project was done, work has to be done in several phases so as not to hamper airport operations.

Higher ceilings were added, improved lighting, wider thoroughfares and thoughtful landscaping, which contributed to a high quality experience that is synonymous with the Changi Experience… A highlight of the revamped Departure Check-in Hall is the addition of one of the world’s largest kinetic art sculptures.  Known as Kinetic Rain, this sculpture is made up of a total of 1,216 bronze droplets, moving in synchrony to a specially choreographed dance every day
